Last years Paragon Steel provided formed galvanized sheets (over 1100 tons) to serve as expansion joints for the pouring of concrete intake dam. It took seven months to pour the entire dam. It is the tallest roller-compacted dam in the country, the first in California. The dam is expected to be filled this summer and once completed will hold 8 billion gallons of water, enough to supply 75% of San Diego's water needs for two months.
