As part of the beautification of the Southern California's rail system, the Los Angeles MTA commissioned Merge Conceptual Design to create this shade canopy/shelter entitled "Out of Sight."
A combination of carbon, stainless steel, EPDM, glass and exceptional assembly make this a truly unique and functional work of art.
Designed to replicate a passenger’s experience of viewing “fleeting images” when looking out of a moving train car, the structure itself bears two visual components.
Upon approaching the shelter, the viewer sees the overhead system of poles and cables, but as they pass, the serenity of weeping willows is clearly visible.
